From the Drawing Board
Plumbing projects over a certain number of fixtures, or that meet specific criteria (e.g. projects producing greasy waste), require plans drawn up and submitted for review. Architect and Engineering firms provide this service for large projects before bidding, but we are happy to provide this service for smaller private projects.
There are many advantages when we design your plumbing as part of the same contract as the installation. Customers typically enjoy a cost savings because we design our projects as efficiently as possible using all the different piping arrangements allowed by the plumbing code. The project goes smoother because we start the job with a much deeper understanding of the scope and details, and any field changes can be quickly resolved in-house without a lot of back and forth to an outside organization.
Here are a few example projects requiring plan review:
- Any project with over 16 plumbing fixtures. In Milwaukee this is 11 fixtures, and West Allis is 10.
- Backflow preventers installed in a healthcare facility
- Oil interceptors in an autobody garage
- Grease traps, required in any commercial cooking space producing grease
