Wm. Faust & Company Founded

William Faust was born in Pitson, PA on March 23, 1870. When he was laid off from his machinist job in the mining industry, he called on a boyhood friend William Watson who was then superintendent at the Allis Co. (which later became Allis-Chalmers). While working at The Allis Co. he was offered a job by a gentleman who was building houses near their home on 49th Avenue. He accepted the offer and began installing plumbing in the homes for the fixed price of $50.00 each. He would work at night, after his regular job at the Allis Co. When

Downsizing

Sadly, the seemingly endless work slowed down with the recession. Large companies such as Masterlock moved their business to other countries, while others went out of business or put up for sale signs. The sobering downturn in the 80’s forced us to cut back our presence to the smaller size business we have historically remained. Faust Company shifted gears slightly, focusing more on work in the industrial sector for foundries and the like, rounding out our resume with experience in all major plumbing sectors. 1978 – Robert Faust (Gen. 4) commenced employment 1987 – John Faust (Gen. 4) commenced employment

Changing with the Times

In more recent years, Faust Company has again changed its focus from the industrial sector to the greener pastures of commercial work, though we still do some manufacturing related work. If there is one thing we have learned from our long history, it is that in order to remain successful, we must adapt and change with the times, always looking forward.

Bryan Faust (Gen. 5) commenced employment

What will be the next big plumbing breakthrough? Will people look back at our current jobs and laugh at the use of copper and plastic? It should make for interesting conversation at our 200th anniversary party. We look forward to what the future holds, for the industry as well as our company. We hope you can become part of our rich history.
